Directly from the ALA Office For Intellectual Freedom: “Each year, ALA releases an annual report that examines attempts to curtail the freedom to read, offering more information about censorship attacks on the Top 10 Most Challenged Books, as well as details on additional frequently challenged titles.”
Previously called “The Field Report”, now called “The Book Report”, gives information about each of the Top 10 Challenged or Banned Books of the year, as well as general information to keep the populace informed about the challenges that are being tackled, ways that the people can act to fight back against these book challenges, as well as how to support the librarians on the front lines of the fight in schools and public libraries.
Below are links to all the currently available reports that are offered for public download at no charge. The most recent couple years are available for a small fee, and as such, we will not post them on this site. If you would like to purchase the Book Report 2024 and support the OIF work, you can do so by clicking HERE. The Book Report 2025 is not yet published.
