2026 Reading Challenges!

Welcome to 2026! We’re already almost two weeks into the year, if you can believe that. It’s the time of year that I like to think about setting some reading goals and challenging myself. The one thing that always hangs me up is trying to decide what to read. Do I go get something new? Do I tackle my TBR pile that is slowing growing out of control? Do I go back and read an old favorite? Do I go fiction or non? History or Humor? Memoir or Mystery? It can get overwhelming!

This year I searched the internet looking for different challenges that our folks are hoping to complete during 2026. I made a page for a bunch of challenges that looked interesting, and over the next week or so I’ll be looking for resources (both free and paid) to use in tracking our reading for the year. Until then, click on the button below to get some ideas for what to fill this year’s bookshelf with.

2026 Reading Challenges

Personally? My goal is to read at least one book per week, and I’m going to do somewhat of a hybrid of a handful of different challenges. I plan to find prompts that look interesting, then check out my TBR, and finally learn more of the history that the country has tried to whitewash away from us.

Share in the comments what your reading goals are for 2026!
